“Human(ely) Living in the Future”
We are excited to invite all alumni from abroad to our first Masterclass 2025, an eight-day international alumni event in Berlin, hosted by IPU Berlin as part of the International Alumni Program (DAAD funded).
This year’s masterclass, themed “Human(ely) Living in the Future” brings together alumni working across clinical practice, social innovation, leadership, and research to explore the evolving role of psychology in a rapidly changing world.
What to expect:
Over the course of eight days, the participants will join fellow alumni and experts for a stimulating programme that blends psychological and psychoanalytic hands-on learning and meaningful exchange with research.

Lectures and discussions by Vice President Prof. Dr. Birgit Stürmer, Aleksandra Mikic M.A., Prof. Dr. Thomas Kühn, and Prof. Dr. Gavin Sullivan, and Topic Ambassadors
In-depth workshops parent–child interaction (Dr. Gabriele Koch), sustainable leadership (Dipl.-Psych Dragan Simicevic, Topic Ambassador), gender diversity in psychotherapy (Ilka Schroeder & Andres Gonzales Axthammer)
Evening cultural and networking events across Berlin — from museum visits and open-air cinema to relaxed social gatherings
Opportunities for collaboration on future research, practice, and international projects

Stipend:
The DAAD has provisions for 16 international alumni AND 4+ Germany-based alumni to come to Berlin to attend this masterclass in person at IPU Berlin. In this form, please motivate how this masterclass would benefit your current work and career progression in 2-3 sentences. 16 respondents will be chosen to attend this exceptional event. Further funding detail will follow.
This is more than a professional development event — it is a chance to master new skills and reimagine your contributions of psychology in shaping a more humane future. We look forward to welcoming alumni back to Berlin and to the IPU for this special gathering of international alumni.
